Dmitry Minkovsky Online

Greetings, and welcome to my webpage!

My name is Dmitry and I am a software developer living in Sunnyside, Queens. I was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1985 and moved with my family to Baltimore, Maryland in 1990.

I grew up in the 90s and computers were my favorite thing. My mom was a computer programmer, so our first big purchase in America was a 16 MHz 286. It was the coolest thing in the world.

Our first ISP was the Baltimore County Public Library. They provided members with a Unix shell account and a guide to using it, not just for library services but for hosting webpages and accessing the Internet. I am forever indebted to the author of that guide.

I studied chemistry at the University of Chicago and lived in Chicago before deciding to work full time with computers and the Internet. I moved to New York in 2009, where I first worked as a professional web developer.
